On 7 August, a [[Company (military unit)|company]] of [[East Pakistan Rifles]] under the command of [[Tufail Mohammad|Major Tufail Mohammad]] was tasked to drive out the Indian infiltrators from the outpost. The company launched a [[surprise attack]] later that night from three fronts.
