This template should not be used directly; <code><nowiki>{{subst:</nowiki>[[Template:Prod blp|prod blp]]<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code> should be used instead. The '''subst:''' part is important for technical reasons explained in [[Template talk:Prod|the talk page]]. This template should '''not''' be subst: itself (that is, do not use <nowiki>{{subst:prod blp/dated}}</nowiki>). Please remember to use an edit summary when proposing a page for deletion or removing the prod blp tag.

This template will categorize pages into [[:Category:All articles proposed for deletion]], [[:Category:BLP articles proposed for deletion]], [[:category:Unreferenced BLPs]]  and [[:Category:BLP articles proposed for deletion by days left]].
