Dr. Prem raj P received a [[Bachelor of Science|BSc]] in [[Zoology]] from [[Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala]] in 1995, an MSc in Biotechnology from [[Cochin University of Science and Technology]] in 1997,<ref>

As a post-doctoral fellow at [[Harvard University]], Dr. Prem raj P co-authored thirteen papers on topics related to gene regulation, gut physiology and biophysics.<ref name=Medvane/> Following his post-doctoral work at Harvard, Dr. Prem raj P served as an assistant professor of Bio-Technology and Microbiology at King Saud University, KSA, for 3 years (2005-2008), thereafter returned to India to join as the faculty of the NITC.<ref name=Chronology/> In addition to his work at NITC, Dr. Prem raj P is active within the academic research community, including serving as an associate editor for ''Journal of Investigative Genomics (JIG)'',<ref>
