== Plot ==&lt;br /&gt;
This movie is similar to Romeo and Juliet, a tragic love story about two star-crossed lovers. The movie focuses on the love that blossoms between an Indian student (Vikranth) and a Pakistani girl. The movie is essentially about how they must both fight against forces which oppose them. The movie outlines some of the most complex themes and problems that occur between the two countries. The story alternates between Vikranth&#039;s parents searching for him, while the flashback of the incidence are portrayed along the way. Eventually, near the end, the Pakistani girl suicides thinking her lover is going to die. However, Vikranth turns up to find her dead. This causes him to break down, eventually psychologically affecting him. As time goes on, Vikranth physical appearance changed to the point where no one recognizes him. The movie ends on a sad note, where his own mother fails to recognize her own son.&lt;br /&gt;

It is a sensitive theme which has a lot of scope and the director did show good vision in choosing it. Vijay ([[Vijay (actor)|Vijay]]) is the managing director of a large shipping corporation. He lives in a joint family with his father Sethupathi ([[M. N. Nambiar]]), two brothers Krishna ([[Radha Ravi]]) and Vasu ([[Dhamu]]), their wives and children, and a spinster sister Pooja ([[Bhanupriya]]). Vijay goes to Switzerland to stipulate a contract with Nagaraj ([[Nizhalgal Ravi]]) and Shekar ([[Raghuvaran]]). There, he meets Meenakshi ([[Rambha (actress)|Rambha]]), Nagaraj&#039;s sister. The two of them fall in love. Nagaraj approves of Vijay, but when he expresses the condition that Vijay should stay with them after the marriage because India is not good, he refuses his offer and returns home. However, Shekar and Meenu later  travel to India to mend fences. Shekar learns that Pooja had been dumped by Nagaraj for a better life, and Vijay is just waiting for an opportunity to kill the man who destroyed his sister&#039;s life. He devises ways of preventing Nagaraj from attending the marriage, but he later tells Pooja the truth. Vijay overhears this and is angered, but Shekar solves all the problems by deciding to marry Pooja. Pooja agrees for this too, making everyone happy. Finally, Vijay, seeing his sister happy leaves Nagaraj alone. Eventually, Meenu and Vijay get married.&lt;br /&gt;
