==Synopsis==
A rich spoilt girl, Gauri ([[Nivedita Joshi-Saraf|Nivedita Joshi Saraf]]), bumps into a young man, Mahesh Jawalkar ([[Mahesh Kothare]]), and both despise each other at first sight. Mahesh works as a farm inspector for Gauri's widowed father, Dhanaji Wakade ([[Sharad Talwalkar]]), who is a haughty industrialist. Mahesh and Gauri's quarrel results in Mahesh's banishment from Dhanaji's company. However, the high-esteemed Mahesh protests by building a tent in Dhanaji's front yard and challenges him to marry him off to his daughter. After petty misunderstandings, Mahesh and Gauri put the quarrel behind them and fall in love anew, but it will be difficult to convince her father for their marriage as Mahesh is way below Dhanaji's social status. In a bid to overcome Dhanaji's resistance, Mahesh seeks the aid of his childhood friend, Ashok Gupchup ([[Ashok Saraf]]), by disguising him as his elderly, estranged father and a millionaire so that Dhanaji approves his marriage. Dhanaji instantly falls for the scheme before Ashok is shocked by the glimpse of his second daughter, Seema (Surekha Rane), as she is the girl whom he loves from a trip in [[New Delhi]]. Meanwhile, Dhanaji's son, Laxmikant ([[Laxmikant Berde]]), also known as Lakshya, is an aspiring filmmaker and is not interested in the family business. He desires to make a film with a village belle, Ambakka Rede (Prema Kiran), whom he loves and tries to convince his father for their marriage and also to finance his upcoming film. Eventually, Lakshya changes his opinion about his own father and supports both Mahesh and Ashok in their tactics against Dhanaji. Ashok, Mahesh and Lakshya will now try all possible ways to impress Dhanaji to approve their marriages.

==Plot==
Dhananjay Mane ([[Ashok Saraf]]) is a street-smart salesman in a cosmetics store in [[Pune]] and is secretly in love with his employer, Madhuri ([[Ashwini Bhave]]). He is the tenant of a stingy landlord, Mr. Vishwas Sarpotdar ([[Sudhir Joshi]]), and is soon joined by his younger brother, Shantanu ([[Siddharth Ray]]), who is a [[Medicine|medical]] student. Though prohibited by Mr. Sarpotdar, Dhananjay and Shantanu allow their [[Kolhapur]]-based childhood friends, Sudhir ([[Sachin Pilgaonkar]]) and Parshuram ([[Laxmikant Berde]]), who is also known as Parshya, to secretly live with them as they both have come to Pune in search of jobs. Sudhir has been miserably disowned by his abusive uncle ([[Gammat Jammat|Suhas Bhalekar]]) for his negligence towards job and income and participation in the village dances out of interest. Meanwhile, Parshya worked as a domestic worker for Chhaburao ([[Jayram Kulkarni|Jairam Kulkarni]]), a drama contractor, who fired him from his job after finding out that Parshya is in love with his daughter, Kamli ([[Priya Arun|Priya Arun Berde]]). One midnight, Dhananjay, Sudhir and Parshya insult Mr. Sarpotdar in a drunken state and are taken away from his house by Shantanu who arrives at the scene a little late. Enraged by his harassment, Mr. Sarpotdar orders the four friends to vacate the place within four days.

After several unsuccessful attempts in finding rented accommodation, Dhananjay and Shantanu finally come across the palatial [[bungalow]] house of a rich, old, kind and cataractic widow, Leelabai Kalbhor (Nayantara), who lives with her shrewd domestic worker, Tanu (Gulab Korgaonkar), and is often harassed for her money by her estranged nephew, Bali ([[Viju Khote]]). She is willing to rent some rooms at her house provided that her tenants are married couples. In a bid to comply with Leelabai's condition, Dhananjay and Shantanu have no other option but to force Sudhir and Parshya to dress as women and thus begins the comedy of errors; Parshya shaves off his moustache and transforms himself into "Parvati", Dhananjay's wife, while Sudhir transforms himself into "Sudha", Shantanu's wife. Shortly after the arrival of the four friends at Leelabai's residence as "married couples", Leelabai's niece, Manisha ([[Supriya Pilgaonkar]]), and her childhood friend, Sushma ([[Nivedita Joshi-Saraf|Nivedita Joshi Saraf]]), who is also coincidentally Shantanu's girlfriend from [[Miraj]], come to stay with Leelabai for some months.

Sudhir, now a successful [[Singing|singer]] and music educator, falls in love with Manisha and courts her in his original form, stating that he is the twin brother of Sudha and that he is disappointed with her marriage with Shantanu and is thus not on talking terms with both Sudha and Shantanu. On the other hand, Shantanu, having passed to become a successful doctor, cooks up a fake story of the deadly stomach cancer of Sudha in front of Sushma as she is deeply upset at his betrayal with her and his marriage with Sudha. Elsewhere, Parshya reunites with Kamli when she comes to Pune with Chhaburao's drama troupe and also shares the news of Parshya having become a successful playwright back in Kolhapur. Meanwhile, Madhuri is heartbroken to see Dhananjay married with Parvati during her visit at Leelabai's residence, but Dhananjay confides the truth in Madhuri through a letter and the two eventually confess their love for each other.

While the four friends develop a bond of motherly love with Leelabai, Tanu confides in Bali the truth about Parvati and Sudha's true identities after she notices Parshya's wig and Sudhir wearing earrings while jumping out from the window in his original form. Eventually, the four friends decide to leave Leelabai's house after finding a new accommodation with the help of Madhuri and stage a drama before Leelabai for their way out. However, in the process, they all are unfortunately exposed by Bali and three of his henchmen in front of Leelabai, Manisha and Sushma and are handed over to the police called in by Tanu. However, at the police station, Leelabai surprisingly disowns Bali as her nephew and absolves the four friends of their deception instead because she genuinely feels that the four friends staged the drama out of their desperate need for a roof over their heads and that their intention was not to steal from her or take advantage of her cataract and that they treated her only like their own mother if anything. Hence, Leelabai decides to take them all in as her own sons with the marriages of Dhananjay, Sudhir, Parshya and Shantanu with Madhuri, Manisha, Kamli and Sushma, respectively. The film ends with the all four newlywed couples taking a family photograph along with Leelabai.

== Synopsis ==
Shaku ([[Supriya Pilgaonkar]]) is a sober but adamant young girl orphaned by fate who lives in a slum with her maternal uncle, Damodar ([[Gammat Jammat|Suhas Bhalekar]]), a bachelor. Shaku's sole dream is to marry a millionaire as according to her, a girl receives only one chance to change her name and financial conditions and that is after her marriage. Damodar is a domestic worker for Mr. Lakshmidhar Kuber ([[Nilu Phule]]), a renowned industrialist whose only son, Narendra ([[Sachin Pilgaonkar]]), also known as Naren, has just returned from abroad after completing his studies. At a party thrown by Mr. Kuber for his son's homecoming, Shaku accompanies Damodar for help in the chores when Naren shares his views on marriage with his friends. His only condition is that he will marry a young widow, which is overheard by Shaku. With the help of Tatya Malvankar ([[Macchindra Kambli]]), a theatre costume lender and friend of Damodar, Shaku poses as "Saudamini", a young widow, and creates a sequence of events wherein she succeeds in entering the Kuber residence.

Using her theatrical antics, she soon wins over the hearts of Naren and his mother, Mrs. Kuber ([[Gol Maal|Shubha Khote]]), who ask her to stay in the house for a more duration. As days go by, Naren falls in love with Shaku but Mr. Kuber asks for Saudamini's late husband's photograph. Again with the help of Tatya Malvankar, Shaku shows the Kubers the photograph of an aspiring theatre actor dressed in a military uniform and tells his name as "Captain Bajirao Rangade", her so-called late husband, provoking Mr. Kuber to finally agree for Naren and Shaku's marriage. The aspiring theatre actor in the photograph is Dinkar Luktuke ([[Ashok Saraf]]), a clerk working for Mr. Kuber's childhood friend, Mr. Gajanan Deshmukh ([[Jayram Kulkarni|Jairam Kulkarni]]), while secretly in love with his only daughter, Hema ([[Kishori Shahane]]). Mr. Kuber had previously asked Mr. Deshmukh for Hema's hand in marriage for Naren. One day, when Mr. Kuber visits Mr. Deshmukh at his office, he suddenly bumps into Luktuke and identifies him from the photograph of Saudamini's late husband, Captain Bajirao Rangade. A plan begins to take shape in the mind of Mr. Kuber, who makes Luktuke arrive at the Kuber residence as Captain Bajirao Rangade himself.

==Plot==
Vakratund ([[Sachin Pilgaonkar]]), also known as Vacky, and Bhakti ([[Supriya Pilgaonkar]]) are a childless couple having got married against Bhakti's parents' wishes. Vacky is a talented artist but has not achieved commercial success despite 10 years of marriage. Soon, Bhakti learns from Vacky's paternal aunt, Atya ([[Nirmiti Sawant]]), that Vacky's parents had made a vow to Lord Ganesha after the loss of their three newborn children that they will bring their son to the [[temple]] of Ganapatipule "unclothed" if he is born healthy. However, the vow was left unfulfilled as Vacky's parents died young out of ecstacy of finally being blessed with a healthy son. Shocked at learning this, Bhakti persuades Vacky to fulfill the vow but he soberly disagrees to comply with her wishes for the task being next to impossible. In an attempt of overcome Bhakti's insistence, Vacky and his childhood friend, Kishore ([[Atul Parchure]]), hire a small-time television actor (Satish Tare) to act as powerful sage "Ughade Baba" in front of Bhakti. Ughade Baba instructs Vacky and Bhakti to take a mannequin dressed as Vacky to the temple of Ganapatipule unclothed via [[Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation|state transport]] bus to fulfill the vow and enable themselves to enter parenthood.

On the previous night of Vacky and Bhakti's travel to Ganapatipule, Vacky and Kishore succeed in sneaking such a mannequin at a bus depot into a state transport bus under the backseat. However, they are unaware that after their departure from the bus that night, an international smuggler named Babu Kaalia, who has escaped from prison and has stolen [[diamond]]s worth [[Indian rupee|₹]]80 [[crore]] from the [[Government of India]], had entered the bus and hidden a bag filled with the diamonds in a hollow of the mannequin. The remaining plot of the film focuses on hilarious situations and the highs and lows that Vacky and Bhakti face while travelling to Ganapatipule. The bus journey is adventurous with the passengers, a totally mixed bunch, from all over [[Maharashtra]], different lives, personalities, cultures and traditions, are all thrown together for this journey. The bus is in the "control" of bus conductor Lalu ([[Ashok Saraf]]) and bus driver Prasad (Sunil Tawde). En route, Lalu meets [[lavani]] dancer Shevanta ([[Kishori Shahane]]) during a technical problem regarding the bus and falls in love with her when she helps him solve his financial problems.

After the resumption of the journey, however, Lalu is horrified to accidentally see the mannequin under the backseat and creates havoc believing it to be a dead body. Despite this, Vacky and Bhakti together manage to convince Lalu and Prasad and the bus passengers that it is a mannequin and not a dead body and its significance for being secretly taken from the bus to Ganapatipule. Nevertheless, on finally reaching Ganapatipule, the group is shocked to be confronted by the police, who have an evidence that Babu Kaalia is travelling from the bus in disguise to escape to [[Dubai]] from the port of Ganapatipule with the diamonds stolen by him. At the same time, a mute passenger ([[Vijay Patkar]]) in the bus is revealed to be actually feigning his speech impairment for being an undercover [[inspector]] sent by the Mumbai police to identify Babu Kaalia. Throughout the journey, Vacky has been sketching a portrait of Babu Kaalia with the help of another bus passenger (Jaywant Wadkar) having encountered Babu Kaalia earlier. As soon as Vacky completes the portrait, Babu Kaalia (Pradeep Patwardhan) reveals his true identity and holds the entire bus and the police at gunpoint with the demand for the mannequin wherein the diamonds stolen by him are hidden.

At this point, Vacky confesses to Bhakti that the Ughade Baba whom she had met earlier was fake and that he had planned the drama with Kishore in order to avoid fulfilling the bizarre vow. However, Bhakti requests Vacky to take the mannequin to the temple out of her faith and devotion towards their union and Lord Ganesha. Thus, Vacky escapes from the bus with the mannequin and runs towards to the temple while being pursued by the gang of Babu Kaalia, the police and the bus passengers. During the persuasion, all the clothes of Vacky are torn off by the pursuers and is only left in his undergarment by the time he reaches the temple with the mannequin and locks himself inside. In the temple, Vacky's undergarment also tears off after being entangled with the lock of the door and is delighted to realise that Lord Ganesha himself has indeed fulfilled the vow by making him appear before Him unclothed. While Babu Kaalia and his gang are arrested by the police for their crimes, Vacky comes out of the temple in a priest's duplicate clothes and returns the diamonds in the mannequin that were stolen by Babu Kaalia to the police. In the end, Vacky and Bhakti are rewarded with ₹8 crore by the Government of India for nabbing Babu Kaalia, and decide to make a vow as well to bring their child "clothed" to the temple of Ganapatipule.

Dhananjay Mane ([[Ashok Saraf]]) is a street-smart salesman in a cosmetics store in [[Pune]] and is secretly in love with his employer, Madhuri ([[Ashwini Bhave]]). Though prohibited by Mr. Sarpotdar, Dhananjay and Shantanu allow their [[Kolhapur]]-based childhood friends, Sudhir ([[Sachin Pilgaonkar]]) and Parshuram ([[Laxmikant Berde]]), who is also known as Parshya, to secretly live with them as they both have come to Pune in search of jobs. After several unsuccessful attempts in finding rented accommodation, Dhananjay and Shantanu finally come across the palatial [[bungalow]] house of a rich, old, kind and cataractic widow, Leelabai Kalbhor (Nayantara), who lives with her shrewd domestic worker, Tanu (Gulab Korgaonkar), and is often harassed for her money by her estranged nephew, Bali ([[Viju Khote]]). She is willing to rent some rooms at her house provided that her tenants are married couples. In a bid to comply with Leelabai's condition, Dhananjay and Shantanu have no other option but to force Sudhir and Parshya to dress as women and thus begins the comedy of errors; Parshya shaves off his moustache and transforms himself into "Parvati", Dhananjay's wife, while Sudhir transforms himself into "Sudha", Shantanu's wife. Shortly after the arrival of the four friends at Leelabai's residence as "married couples", Leelabai's niece, Manisha ([[Supriya Pilgaonkar]]), and her childhood friend, Sushma ([[Nivedita Joshi-Saraf|Nivedita Joshi Saraf]]), who is also coincidentally Shantanu's girlfriend from [[Miraj]], come to stay with Leelabai for some months.

Sudhir, now a successful [[Singing|singer]] and music educator, falls in love with Manisha and courts her in his original form, stating that he is the twin brother of Sudha and that he is disappointed with her marriage with Shantanu and is thus not on talking terms with both Sudha and Shantanu. On the other hand, Shantanu, having passed to become a successful doctor, cooks up a fake story of the deadly stomach cancer of Sudha in front of Sushma as she is deeply upset at his betrayal with her and his marriage with Sudha. Elsewhere, Parshya reunites with Kamli when she comes to Pune with Chhaburao's drama troupe and also shares the news of Parshya having become a successful playwright back in Kolhapur. Meanwhile, Madhuri is heartbroken to see Dhananjay married with Parvati during her visit at Leelabai's residence, but Dhananjay confides the truth in Madhuri through a letter and the two eventually confess their love for each other.

While the four friends develop a bond of motherly love with Leelabai, Tanu confides in Bali the truth about Parvati and Sudha's true identities after she notices Parshya's wig and Sudhir wearing earrings while jumping out from the window in his original form. Eventually, the four friends decide to leave Leelabai's house after finding a new accommodation with the help of Madhuri and stage a drama before Leelabai for their way out. However, in the process, they all are unfortunately exposed by Bali and three of his henchmen in front of Leelabai, Manisha and Sushma and are handed over to the police called in by Tanu. However, at the police station, Leelabai surprisingly disowns Bali as her nephew and absolves the four friends of their deception instead because she genuinely feels that the four friends staged the drama out of their desperate need for a roof over their heads and that their intention was not to steal from her or take advantage of her cataract and that they treated her only like their own mother if anything. Hence, Leelabai decides to take them all in as her own sons with the marriages of Dhananjay, Sudhir, Parshya and Shantanu with Madhuri, Manisha, Kamli and Sushma, respectively. The film ends with the all four newlywed couples taking a family photograph along with Leelabai.

Her husband, Advocate Manohar Barshinge ([[Ashok Saraf]]), is a [[lawyer]] but he is a fraud as one has to count the fingers of his own hand after a handshake with him. Manohar has not contested a single legal case in the court of law and prefers out-of-court settlements. Jairam gets hit by the Tata Grande car driven by his co-actress, Preeti (Bhargavi Chirmule). Preeti's older brother, Mahesh Thakur ([[Mahesh Kothare]]), is the [[Police Commissioner of Mumbai|Mumbai Police Commissioner]] and is married to Meena (Bhagyashree Rane). Preeti had taken the car of Mahesh during the time of the accident so the hit-and-run case becomes that of him. Mahesh comes to the private hospital where Jairam is recovering to solve the issue, but Manohar has decided to sue the owner of the car by then for a financial compensation of [[Indian rupee|₹]]50 [[lakh]]. Jairam is actually completely unhurt but Manohar convinces him to feign paralysis and remain in the hospital till the verdict of the case.

Though Mahesh and Manohar end up in a face-off in a non-existent case, Preeti decides to confess Jairam that her brother was not involved in the case at all and falls in love with him in the process. While Jaywanti discovers Jairam and Manohar's deceit and severes ties with them both, Manohar leaks the news of Jairam's accident from Mahesh's car to the press and Jairam reads about it in the [[newspaper]]. He then escapes from the hospital and rushes to Mahesh's bungalow house to reveal the truth about him to Preeti. == Synopsis ==
Jairam Gangavane ([[Sachin Pilgaonkar]]) is an upcoming struggling [[actor]]. His older sister, Jaywanti ([[Nirmiti Sawant]]), who is an astrologer, believes that he is destined for greatness. Her husband, Advocate Manohar Barshinge ([[Ashok Saraf]]), is a [[lawyer]] but he is a fraud, as one has to count the fingers of his own hand after a handshake with him. Manohar has not contested a single legal case in the court of law and prefers out-of-court settlements. Jairam gets hit by a Tata Grande car driven by his co-actress, Preeti (Bhargavi Chirmule), whose older brother, Mahesh Thakur ([[Mahesh Kothare]]), is the [[Police Commissioner of Mumbai|Mumbai Police Commissioner]] and is married to Meena (Bhagyashree Rane). Preeti had taken the car of Mahesh during the time of the accident so the hit-and-run case becomes that of him. Mahesh comes to the private hospital where Jairam is recovering to solve the issue, but Manohar has decided to sue the owner of the car by then for a financial compensation of [[Indian rupee|₹]]50 [[lakh]]. Jairam is actually completely unhurt but Manohar convinces him to feign paralysis and remain in the hospital till the verdict of the case.

Though Mahesh and Manohar end up in a face-off in a non-existent case, Preeti decides to confess Jairam that her brother was not involved in the case at all and falls in love with him in the process. While Jaywanti discovers Jairam and Manohar's deceit and severes ties with them both, Manohar leaks the news of Jairam's accident from Mahesh's car to the press and Jairam reads about it in the [[newspaper]]. He then escapes from the hospital and rushes to Mahesh's bungalow house to reveal the truth about him to Preeti. Jairam is unable to meet Preeti due to Meena's intervention but he and Mahesh shockingly come face-to-face. Does Mahesh arrest Jairam alongside Manohar for embelling a fraud? After the first few stage performances during his school years and college years he got an opportunity to act in the Marathi play named "Tur Tur". That proved to be a major breakthrough for him and thus he ventured into the commercial Marathi theater. He proved his excellence in comedy. Then followed the play "[[Moruchi Mavshi]]". During that period of struggle Mr. [[Sudhir Bhat]] of Suyog Productions, cast him into a lead role in his comedy-drama "Bramhachari". That was what gave birth to his devotion and dedication to the world of Marathi theater & entertainment. He got his first break into films through the film "''Pudhcha Paaul''" by Producer Mr. Vinay Nevalkar which was directed by Mr. Raj Dutt and thus marked his first entry into the world of Marathi films, where his performance and name reached to a larger audience, further stabilizing his presence in the acting arena.

Having done a number of Marathi Stage shows, Prashant has also worked in the film media. He has worked in numerous television serials and more than a hundred Marathi films. He has worked with the big wigs of the industry and worked in some of the all-time famous movies like - ''Pasant Aahe Mulagi'', ''Savat Majhi Ladki'', ''Ekda Pahava Karun'', ''Aatmavishwas'', ''Ena Meena Deeka'' (along with [[Ashok Saraf]]), ''Madhuchandrachi Ratra'', ''Vajwa Re Vajwa'' and the most recent ''[[Tu Tithe Mee]]''.

He has acted in many Marathi and Hindi television serials and has portrayed memorable characters. Damle suffered a mild heart attack in May 2013. He was undergoing treatment at an Andheri hospital. Damle was admitted to the Critical H4 hospital after feeling uneasy. Angiography revealed four blockages in arteries supplying blood to his heart which was operated the same week. Damle was busy with "Eka Lagnachi Goshta" when he had this mild heart attack. Because of this, all shows of his dramas had to be canceled for the next 15 days. Dinesh is also trying his luck with Beena but she eventually Beena gives in to Madhu's advances. After realising her husband's progress in his extramarital affair, Seema cooks up a plan and brings Beena home as her husband's second wife and showers her love and affection on Beena while teaching her husband a lesson. == Plot ==
A man is cursed with lure while a woman is blessed with control. This is a time-tested universal truth which continues to be the same in the 20th-century as well. Dr. Madhukar ([[Mohan Joshi]]), also known as Madhu, and Seema Hirve (Neena Kulkarni) are a happy married couple living in [[Pune]]. Seema is a responsible, clever and mature housewife and Madhu is a well-known surgeon and hospital founder. Madhu's colleague Dr. Dinesh Kirtikar ([[Prashant Damle]]) is an anesthetist and a bachelor with a great sense of humour. Soon, Dr. Beena Karnik (Varsha Usgaonkar), the beautiful niece of Madhu and Seema's neighbour Mrs. Bendre ([[Amita Khopkar]]), joins as Madhu's assistant in his hospital. Madhu is instantly attracted to Beena during her tenure while Dinesh is also trying his luck with Beena, but eventually Beena gives in to Madhu's advances. After realising her husband's progress in his extramarital affair, Seema cooks up a plan and gets Beena home as her husband's second wife and showers her love and affection on Beena while teaching her husband a lesson. Amidst all this, Madhu develops a misunderstanding that Seema is also having an extramarital affair with his childhood friend Pradeep ([[Ramesh Bhatkar]]) which leads to humourous situations.

The film came to wider attention in the English-speaking world when its opening song "[[Jaan Pehechan Ho]]" (a Hindi-Urdu phrase roughly translated as "we should get to know each other") was included in the opening credits of ''Ghost World'' and used in the 2011 commercial ''The Date'' for Heineken. The song was sung by Bollywood music legend [[Mohammed Rafi]]. The lead dancer in the song as shot in the film was [[Laxmi Chhaya]]. The psychedelic choreography was done by [[Herman Benjamin]], who also sang the song as picturised in the film.

==Plot==
Khanna (Hiralal), a wealthy man, hires an assassin to murder his rival, Seth Sohanlal, and makes a few telephone calls to his assistants, and then to Asha ([[Nanda (actress)|Nanda]]), Seth Sohanlal's niece, to give her the news of her uncle's death. As a shocked Asha screams, an intruder mysteriously enters and shoots Khanna dead. A few days later, Asha wins a trip to a foreign country with six others; Barrister Rakesh ([[Pran (actor)|Pran]]), Dharamdas ([[Dhumal (actor)|Dhumal]]), Kishan (Manmohan), Dr. Acharya ([[Madan Puri]]), Madhusudan Sharma ([[Tarun Bose]]), and Kitty Kelly ([[Helen (actress)|Helen]]). The airplane carrying all the winners and the flight attendant, Anand ([[Manoj Kumar]]), is forced to make an emergency landing at an unknown island. However, as soon as Anand and the seven passengers alight from the airplane, it shockingly takes off, leaving everyone stranded on the island. At the same time, a mysterious, unseen woman begins singing a song which is heard at different points in time during the film without the woman being seen. The eight persons follow the direction of the woman's voice and reach an eerie mansion that seems to be unoccupied except for a strange butler ([[Mehmood Ali|Mehmood]]).

Once inside the mansion, Dharamdas discovers a diary that reveals that they are all connected to a crime and that they will all be killed. Anand discovers Dr. Acharya has brought with him a bottle of poison and Dharamdas has brought a dagger. Anand begins flirting with Asha while Rakesh and Kitty fall in love. Everyone is suspicious of everyone else and the butler's actions indicate the presence of an unknown person in the mansion. Soon, Kishan goes missing on the island and Anand and Asha shockingly find him murdered with a cigar near his dead body. The killer has left a note stating that Kishan was the assassin hired by Khanna to murder Seth Sohanlal. The group deduces that Dharamdas killed Kishan but he pleads innocence. Dharamdas is too later found dead and Anand concludes the culprit is among them. It becomes clear that everyone in the house was connected to Seth Sohanlal; Rakesh wrote Seth Sohanlal's will on Khanna's orders, while Kitty was Seth Sohanlal's private secretary who sent his will to Rakesh on Khanna's instructions, though neither knew about the other. The following day, Anand notices Rakesh hiding an axe before Dr. Acharya arrives screaming that Sharma has been killed with an axe. The killer leaves another note stating that Sharma was Khanna's co-conspirator in Seth Sohanlal's murder and Anand accuses Rakesh of Sharma's murder.

That night, Dr. Acharya catches the butler acting suspiciously and learns his secret before a scuffle ensues between them both. In the presence of Asha and Kitty, a stabbed Dr. Acharya enters the dining room, utters Anand's name and breathes his last, causing Asha to begin questioning her faith in Anand. The next morning, Kitty goes for a walk by herself and is strangled. Rakesh and Asha, searching for Kitty, are horrified to find her dead body and Anand's hat near it. Rakesh witnesses Anand running away from the crime scene and begins chasing him but loses his trail. In a fit of rage and grief, Rakesh tries to rape Asha inside the mansion in the middle of the night. Asha escapes from Rakesh but runs into him again, as Rakesh collapses dead with two daggers in his back. The mansion's lights are switched off, which indicates that the killer has arrived and that Asha is next. The killer approaches Asha and she falls unconscious in fear before being carried into a secret room and brought back to consciousness.

Sharma, the killer, reveals to Asha that he had only employed the butler to make the necessary arrangements on the island, and posing as one of the castaways, he killed Kishan and Dharamdas. He then convinced Dr. Acharya to help him fake his own death on the pretext that it would help him search for the killer, and later killed Dr. Acharya as well along with Kitty and Rakesh. At the same time, Anand appears at the scene and reveals that he is an undercover police inspector in search of Sharma, an escaped convict whose real name is Madanlal. Madanlal reveals to Anand and Asha that he, Khanna and Seth Sohanlal were partners in smuggling, but Khanna and Seth Sohanlal betrayed him after he was arrested by the police. Khanna also had Seth Sohanlal killed to usurp his share of the money but Madanlal escaped from prison and killed Khanna, before ensuring that his targets "won" the lucky draw and taking the trip to murder Khanna's remaining five assistants as well. Further, Madanlal ties up Anand and Asha and plays the game of Russian Roulette with them. However, the butler secretly arrives and releases Anand, who attacks Madanlal as he is about to shoot Asha with the only bullet. In the ensuing melee, Madanlal escapes from the mansion and runs towards the seashore, but an airplane full of police officers lands on the island and Madanlal is arrested for his crimes. The "ghost" woman who sings the ominous song turns out to be the butler's mentally ill sister. The film ends with Anand, Asha, the butler and his sister leaving the ill-fated island on the airplane.

According to film expert Rajesh Subramanian, a cold war prevailed between Mehmood and Manoj Kumar during the making of the film. Kumar tried to convince the director to discard the song "Hum kaale hain toh kya hua", which has picturised on Mehmood, from the film. However, it was kept and went on to become a hit and one of the highlights of the film.
