== Synopsis ==
''Aggabai Sasubai'' is the story of Asavari Kulkarni ([[Nivedita Joshi-Saraf|Nivedita Joshi Saraf]]), an honest, loving and caring widow, who selflessly takes care of her family and faces all life issues with peace. Her husband has passed away a couple of decades ago and therefore, she raised her son Soham (Ashutosh Patki) as a single parent and has also taken care of her elderly authoritative father-in-law Aajoba (Ravi Patwardhan). However, Asavari always pays less attention to herself while loving everyone else. After the marriage of Soham, the show focuses on how Asavari's daughter-in-law Shubhra (Tejashree Pradhan), who shares a deep bond with her mother-in-law, strives to bring a little joy in Asavari's life and decides to get her remarried with her own favourite chef Abhijeet Raje (Girish Oak).

== Plot ==
Shubhra (Tejashree Pradhan) decides to go to Soham's (Ashutosh Patki) house to inform his family members about their relationship. As Asavari enjoys chef Abhijeet Raje's cookery show, Shubhra arrives at the Kulkarni residence and informs Asavari and Aajoba about her and Soham's decision to marry. However, Aajoba instantly objects their union and creates a scene, but Asavari manages to calm him down and discusses Soham and Shubhra's marriage plans with Shubhra, having agreed for their relationship. Despite this, Aajoba is disappointed with Soham and Shubhra's register marriage and thus refuses to attend it. After Soham and Shubhra get married, the family celebrate the marriage party in Abhijeet's restaurant. While there, Abhijeet notices Asavari and falls in love with her. In order to get closer to her, he sends her the dessert ''Créme Brûlèe'' prepared by him through Shubhra as Asavari had refused to eat in Aajoba's absence. After entering Soham's house, Shubhra serves the ''Créme Brûlèe'' sent by Abhijeet to Asavari, who then gives the remarks about it to Abhijeet over a phone call.

The next morning, Shubhra finds the old camera of Soham's late father in the store room which makes Asavari emotional. Unbeknownst to them, Aajoba, with the help of Soham, uploads the photograph of the camera on the internet in order to sell it off. Later, the Kulkarni family visits a temple to perform a post-wedding ritual of Soham and Shubhra. Just then, Abhijeet also reaches there but Aajoba misunderstands him to be a thief and lashes out at him. However, Shubhra calms him down and takes him home while Abhijeet comes across the photograph of the camera uploaded by Aajoba on the internet.

Furthermore, Abhijeet arrives at Asavari's house to buy the camera while she is busy watching his cookery show on the TV. Abhijeet's unexpected arrival baffles Asavari who accidentally mixes rice in the coffee meant for him. Later, Aajoba returns home from his evening walk and sells the camera off to Abhijeet. Nevertheless, Abhijeet leaves the camera at Asavari's house on seeing her attachment to it. Meanwhile, Aajoba hurries to deposit the cheque given by Abhijeet in the bank, and refuses to return it even after learning that Abhijeet has not taken the camera with him.

Despite this, Shubhra manages to convince Aajoba to keep the camera after she lies to him that she sold off the ancestral jewellery of the Kulkarni family given to her by him. Further, Asavari goes to Abhijeet's restaurant to return him the cheque. Later, Abhijeet sets out to accompany Asavari home and they enjoy a candid conversation on their way back. The two also have tea from a street-side stall in the breeze of the rain. As Asavari gets late to return home, Soham orders dinner from outside which causes Aajoba to have a stomachache.

The next day, Aajoba goes for a morning walk but Asavari and Shubhra begin to get worried when he does not return home. Aajoba takes Asavari's test with the help of his close friend and neighbour Karkhanis Kaka (Arun Mohre). Later, Abhijeet gives Asavari an idea to win her father-in-law's heart which eventually works out to be successful. Karkhanis Kaka then invites the Kulkarni family to his house for lunch. Shubhra insists Asavari to wear a nice saree but Soham expresses his dislike to it, following which, Shubhra teaches him a lesson.

Later, everyone go to the Karkhanis residence for the lunch and while watching Abhijeet's cookery show, Karkhanis Kaka's arrogant daughter-in-law Pradnya's (Sanjeevani Sathe) comments about Abhijeet indicate Shubhra to forsee Asavari's fortune inflicted by him. Shubhra proceeds to order a microwave for Soham and Pradnya taunts Asavari while going to the market. Aajoba creates a scene on being unable to heat food in the microwave. Elsewhere, Abhijeet bumps into Asavari at the marketplace and buys a pumpkin for her before inviting her to his restaurant with her family.

After learning this, Shubhra convinces Aajoba to accompany them to Abhijeet's restaurant for lunch. On Shubhra's prodding, Asavari prepares ''Gharge'' for Abhijeet with the pumpkin he had bought for her. Later, Aajoba creates a scene on seeing Abhijeet at the restaurant but Shubhra pacifies him. After tasting the ''Gharges'' brought by Asavari, Abhijeet insists her to teach him to prepare them. Soham, Shubhra and Aajoba enjoy desserts after lunch. Later, Aajoba blames his illness on the food at Abhijeet's restaurant. Meanwhile, Abhijeet decides to go to Asavari's house to learn the recipe.

Upon arriving, Abhijeet tries to appease an angry Aajoba. Karkhanis Kaka takes Aajoba to his house. Due to Soham's objection, Asavari refuses to teach Abhijeet the recipe of ''Gharge''. Pradnya lies to Abhijeet about having prepared the ''Gharge'' for him. The incident at Asavari's house makes Abhijeet restless. Pradnya takes Abhijeet's phone number from Asavari and invites him to her house to learn the recipe of ''Gharge''. Taking advantage of this, she invites the neighbouring women as well. After all, Pradnya fails to teach Abhijeet the recipe, but a restless Asavari intervenes at her house and teaches Abhijeet to prepare ''Gharge''.

After tasting the ''Gharge'', everyone begins to praise Asavari. Abhijeet expresses his gratitude to Asavari and invites her to his restaurant for the return gift. Pradnya gets jealous on seeing Asavari being praised. Later, an uninvited Pradnya goes to Abhijeet's restaurant but is turned away by Mandodari Parab (Bhakti Ratnaparkhi), also known as Maddy, who is the manager of Abhijeet's restaurant and also his friend. Pradnya informs Aajoba about Asavari being at Abhijeet's restaurant. Soon after, a furious Aajoba rebukes Asavari for meeting Abhijeet. In a fit of rage, he throws the camera of Soham's late father out of the house. After Abhijeet's intervention, a crying Asavari asks him to stay away from her.

A couple of days later, Shubhra goes to [[Lonavala]] for her meeting while Asavari worries about water logging in the city due to heavy rains. After a conversation with Pradnya, Asavari gets worried about Soham being stuck in a water-logged area. Later, Abhijeet tries to calm down Asavari over a phone call as she continues to panic on not being able to contact Soham. Abhijeet then arrives at Asavari's house and finds out about Soham being at his friend Akshay's (Nikhil Jhope) house. Further, Asavari prepares dinner for Abhijeet.

=== Two Months Later ===
Abhijeet's joy knows no bounds when he learns that Asavari has specially come to meet him. While chatting, the two admit that they are friends. Asavari eats the chillies offered by Abhijeet playfully. Abhijeet declares it to be a Friendship Day at his restaurant. Constant glimpses of Abhijeet on the TV irks Aajoba, while Asavari keeps getting hiccups. Abhijeet then asks Asavari to come to his restaurant urgently. Later, Maddy ties the friendship band given to her by Abhijeet to Asavari. Meanwhile, sudden arrival of Soham's friends at home annoys Aajoba. While Abhijeet and Asavari go to the vegetable market on Abhijeet's motorbike, Shubhra learns from Akshay has Soham has quit his job and insists him to inform everyone about this at home. Abhijeet sets out to meet a property owner. Further, Abhijeet comes to Asavari's house with a good news and Asavari prepares a special type of rice for him. Abhijeet proceeds to purchase a jewellery for Asavari and thinks about gifting her a ''mangalsutra'' as well due to his feelings for her. The next day, Asavari takes the "''Naralachya Wadya''" for Abhijeet at his restaurant. However, stunned by the unexpected words said by him regarding his thought at the jewellery shop, she storms off.

On reaching home, Asavari hugs Soham and begins to cry. Meanwhile, everyone at the restaurant get worried on seeing Abhijeet stunned. Shubhra gets worried on reading the letter received from Soham's office and quizzes him. Later, Pradnya eavesdrops on Soham and Shubhra's conversation with Soham's employer Uday Sir. Much to Abhijeet's resentment, Asavari rebukes him when he contacts her. Abhijeet then tells Shubhra that he wants to apologise to Asavari and she assures him that she will help him. Asavari gets shocked on learning from Pradnya that Soham has lost his job and questions Shubhra for hiding this from her.

The next day, Soham informs Abhijeet that he and Asavari are planning to meet him. Asavari's last moment refusal to talk to Abhijeet regarding Soham's recommendation for a job angers Soham. Later, Soham goes to meet Abhijeet alone and tells him that Asavari is unwell. That evening, Shubhra suspects Soham's involvement behind Abhijeet's unexpected arrival at their home. Asavari gets angry at Abhijeet, who leaves after declaring that he will never step into their house until Asavari invites him. Shubhra answers Asavari's questions about Abhijeet. After returning home, Soham berates Asavari on learning that Abhijeet has left.

Later, Soham tells Abhijeet about losing his job and requests him to talk to Uday Sir about it. Asavari gets angry on learning that Abhijeet has come to Pradnya's house to learn the recipes. While Soham meets Abhijeet and thanks him, Abhijeet gives him an advice. Asavari and Shubhra get delighted on knowing that Soham has got his job back. Soon after, Abhijeet's absence in his cookery show startles Asavari. She visualises Abhijeet everywhere while trying to stay awake at night. Later, Asavari forgives an apologetic Abhijeet over a phone call and is sent a sweet gift by him the next day.

After some days, Maddy visits Asavari's house to give her a cheque and contacts Abhijeet to inform him about Asavari's birthday. While on her way to the market, every passer-by gives Asavari a rose which surprises her. Later, much to her delight, Abhijeet meets Asavari and sings for her. However, Abhijeet is left stunned when Asavari reveals that it is not her birthday. Abhijeet and Shubhra accept the challenge of finding out Asavari's birth date. Later, Abhijeet contacts Asavari and pretends to be a social worker who needs her birth date but in vain. Further, he sends Maddy to Asavari's house to trick Asavari into revealing her birth date, but fails in that attempt too. Eventually, Abhijeet visits Asavari's house and successfully finds out her birth date by using a mathematics trick.

=== One Month Later ===

Shubhra contacts Abhijeet and teases him. When Abhijeet comes to Asavari's house with Maddy, Shubhra lies to him that Asavari has gone to the market barefoot. Later, she bumps into a barefooted Abhijeet while he looks for Asavari in the market. Shubhra then makes him confess his love for Asavari, following which, Abhijeet pours his heart out before her. Shubhra refuses to help Abhijeet as he tries to win Asavari and her family over. On reaching home, Asavari applies ointment on Abhijeet's feet as they are scarred due to the heat.

On the day of Abhijeet and Asavari's birthday, Abhijeet's surprise birthday wish conveyed at night through a video delights Asavari. Asavari then takes a birthday gift for Abhijeet, but Pradnya cunningly swaps the gift. When Abhijeet comes to pick up the Kulkarni family, Aajoba teases him on seeing his clothes. On their way to the party, the tyre of Abhijeet and Asavari's taxi gets punctured, so the two ride a bicycle to reach a venue. Meanwhile, Pradnya executes her cunning plan by swapping the birthday cake meant for Abhijeet and Asavari.

Further, Aajoba rebukes Asavari as soon as she and Abhijeet reach the venue. Shubhra tricks Pradnya into confessing her misconduct and allows Abhijeet to learn the truth about his real birthday gift from Asavari. Aajoba's words regarding Asavari's life go on to upset Abhijeet. Shubhra uses her wit on seeing the swapped birthday cake and teaches Pradnya a lesson. Further, Maddy brings the original birthday cake meant for Abhijeet and Asavari. After the birthday celebration, Abhijeet gifts Asavari a mirror and pours his heart out to her.

A couple of days later, the special treat arranged by Abhijeet at his restaurant delights Asavari. However, Soham contacts her and asks her to return home urgently for having fallen off of his scooter. Further, Abhijeet asks Asavari to come down the building and proposes marriage to her. Later, Shubhra consoles a crying Asavari and a stunned Abhijeet. Eavesdropping on Abhijeet and Asavari, Pradnya deliberately tries to instigate Soham against them. Asavari gets disheartened as Soham and Aajoba berate her.

The next day, Shubhra tries to talk to Asavari about Abhijeet but in vain. Abhijeet's behaviour at his restaurant worries Maddy and the other employees. Later, Soham goes to meet Abhijeet at the restaurant but is reluctantly evaded by him. Shubhra then gives an advice to Abhijeet when he comes to meet Asavari. Pradnya tries to instigate Soham against Asavari once again. Soham goes on to meet Abhijeet at the restaurant to show him his business proposal. While there, he finds out something inside Abhijeet's wallet which makes him despise him.

After returning home, a furious Soham destroys the thinks kept safely by Asavari as souviners of Abhijeet. Plagued by Abhijeet's memories, Asavari accidentally contacts him to order groceries instead of a grocery shop. Realising that Asavari truly loves him, Abhijeet arrives at her house with the groceries ordered by her. Soham tries to confront Abhijeet over his and Asavari's relationship but in vain. Later, Abhijeet bumps into Asavari down the building where he expresses his feelings before her and gives her a promise.

Further, Soham behaves rudely with Abhijeet when he comes home with Asavari and Shubhra. Abhijeet then talks to Shubhra about his investment in Soham's business. Shubhra reprimands Soham for his rude behaviour with Abhijeet. Later, Soham asks Aajoba and Karkhanis Kaka to gather because he wants to tell them something important. Just as he is about to reveal Abhijeet's love for Asavari, Soham receives a phone call from Akshay who gives him some problematic information. Due to this new development, Soham reveals the good news of Abhijeet's partnership in his business, which leaves everyone exceedingly delighted and Asavari is grateful towards Abhijeet.

Eventually, Aajoba realises his folly and agrees for Abhijeet and Asavari's relationship, although Soham is not comfortable with the decision. On the day of Abhijeet and Asavari's wedding, Asavari and Aajoba get sentimental while leaving from the house. Exploiting this situation, Soham plans to hinder the wedding and lies to Aajoba that Abhijeet has demanded a very huge amount of dowry. Moreover, he visits the wedding venue and secretly tells Asavari that Aajoba actually disapproves of her remarriage and has thus refused to attend it. Upon learning this, Asavari breaks down before she suddenly decides to cancel the wedding, anticipating Aajoba's decision. However, Abhijeet is able to meet Aajoba on a street, thanks to his friend, who is actor [[Subodh Bhave]], and clears all the misunderstandings and misinterpretations. In the end, Abhijeet and Asavari successfully get married with their love and affection for each other in the presence of their family and friends.

The show starred Girish Oak, [[Nivedita Joshi-Saraf|Nivedita Saraf]], Tejashree Pradhan, Ashutosh Patki and Ravi Patwardhan. Due to the success of ''Aggabai Sasubai'', the makers replaced it with the spin-off of the series titled ''[[Aggabai Sunbai (TV series)|Aggabai Sunbai]]''. The promo of the show was launched on 21 February 2021 and replaced the parent show from 15 March 2021 at same time. ==Synopsis==

Mahesh works as a farm inspector for Gauri's widowed father, Dhanaji Wakade ([[Sharad Talwalkar]]), who is a haughty industrialist. Mahesh and Gauri's quarrel results in Mahesh's banishment from Dhanaji's company. However, the high-esteemed Mahesh protests by building a tent in Dhanaji's front yard and challenges him to marry him off to his daughter. After petty misunderstandings, Mahesh and Gauri put the quarrel behind them and fall in love anew, but it will be difficult to convince her father for their marriage as Mahesh is way below Dhanaji's social status. In a bid to overcome Dhanaji's resistance, Mahesh seeks the aid of his childhood friend, Ashok Gupchup ([[Ashok Saraf]]), by disguising him as his elderly, estranged father and a millionaire so that Dhanaji approves his marriage. Preeti had taken the car of Mahesh during the time of the accident so the hit-and-run case becomes that of him. == Synopsis ==
Jairam Gangavane ([[Sachin Pilgaonkar]]) is an upcoming struggling [[actor]] whose older astrologer sister, Jaywanti ([[Nirmiti Sawant]]), believes that he is destined for greatness. Jaywanti's husband, Manohar Barshinge ([[Ashok Saraf]]), is a fraud [[lawyer]] who prefers out-of-court settlements and one has to count the fingers of his own hand after a handshake with him. Jairam gets hit by a Tata Grande car driven by his co-actress, Preeti (Bhargavi Chirmule), whose older brother, Mahesh Thakur ([[Mahesh Kothare]]), is the [[Police Commissioner of Mumbai|Mumbai Police Commissioner]] and is married to Meena (Bhagyashree Rane). Preeti had taken the car of Mahesh during the time of the accident so the hit-and-run case becomes that of him. Mahesh comes to the hospital to solve the issue but Manohar has decided to sue the owner of the car by then for a financial compensation of fifty [[lakh]] [[Indian rupee|rupees]]. Jairam is actually unhurt but Manohar convinces him to feign paralysis and remain in the hospital till the conclusion of the case.

Though Mahesh and Manohar end up in a face-off in a non-existent case, Preeti decides to confess Jairam that her brother was not involved in the case at all and falls in love with him in the process. While Jaywanti discovers Jairam and Manohar's deceit and severes ties with them both, Manohar leaks the news of Jairam's accident from Mahesh's car to the press and Jairam reads about it in the [[newspaper]]. He then escapes from the hospital and goes to Mahesh's bungalow house to reveal the truth about him to Preeti. ==Plot==
Dhananjay Mane ([[Ashok Saraf]]) is a street-smart salesman in a cosmetics store in [[Pune]] and is secretly in love with his employer, Madhuri ([[Ashwini Bhave]]). He is the tenant of a stingy landlord, Mr. Vishwas Sarpotdar ([[Sudhir Joshi]]), and is soon joined by his younger brother, Shantanu ([[Siddharth Ray]]), who is a [[Medicine|medical]] student. Though prohibited by Mr. Sarpotdar, Dhananjay and Shantanu allow their [[Kolhapur]]-based childhood friends, Sudhir ([[Maza Pati Karodpati|Sachin Pilgaonkar]]) and Parshuram ([[Laxmikant Berde]]), also known as Parshya, to secretly live with them as they both have come to Pune in search of jobs. Sudhir has been miserably disowned by his abusive uncle (Suhas Bhalekar) for his negligence towards job and income and participation in the village dances out of interest. After several unsuccessful attempts in finding rented accommodation, Dhananjay and Shantanu finally come across the palatial house of a rich, old, kind and cataractic widow, Leelabai Kalbhor (Nayantara), who lives with her shrewd domestic worker, Tanu (Gulab Korgaonkar), and is often harassed for her money by her estranged nephew, Bali ([[Viju Khote]]). She is willing to rent some rooms at her house provided that her tenants are married couples. In a bid to comply with Leelabai's condition, Dhananjay and Shantanu have no other option but to force Sudhir and Parshya to dress as women and thus begins the comedy of errors; Parshya shaves off his moustache and transforms himself into "Parvati", Dhananjay's wife, while Sudhir transforms himself into "Sudha", Shantanu's wife. Shortly after the arrival of the four friends at Leelabai's residence as "married couples", Leelabai's niece, Manisha ([[Supriya Pilgaonkar]]), and her childhood friend, Sushma ([[Nivedita Joshi-Saraf|Nivedita Joshi Saraf]]), who is also coincidentally Shantanu's girlfriend from [[Miraj]], come to stay with Leelabai for some months.

Sudhir, now a successful [[Singing|singer]] and music educator, falls in love with Manisha and courts her in his original form, stating that he is the twin brother of Sudha and that he is disappointed with her marriage with Shantanu and is thus not on talking terms with both Sudha and Shantanu. On the other hand, Shantanu, having passed to become a successful doctor, cooks up a fake story of the deadly stomach cancer of Sudha in front of Sushma as she is deeply upset at his betrayal with her and his marriage with Sudha. Elsewhere, Parshya reunites with Kamli when she comes to Pune with Chhaburao's drama troupe and also shares the news of Parshya having become a successful playwright back in Kolhapur. Meanwhile, Madhuri is heartbroken to see Dhananjay married with Parvati during her visit at Leelabai's residence, but Dhananjay confides the truth in Madhuri through a letter and the two eventually confess their love for each other.

While the four friends develop a bond of motherly love with Leelabai, Tanu confides in Bali the truth about Parvati and Sudha's true identities after she notices Parshya's wig and Sudhir wearing earrings while jumping out from the window in his original form. Eventually, the four friends decide to leave Leelabai's house after finding a new accommodation with the help of Madhuri and stage a drama before Leelabai for their way out. However, in the process, they all are unfortunately exposed by Bali and three of his henchmen in front of Leelabai, Manisha and Sushma and are handed over to the police called in by Tanu. However, at the police station, Leelabai surprisingly disowns Bali as her nephew and absolves the four friends of their deception instead because she genuinely feels that the four friends staged the drama out of their desperate need for a roof over their heads and that their intention was not to steal from her or take advantage of her cataract and that they treated her only like their own mother if anything. Hence, Leelabai decides to take them all in as her own sons with the marriages of Dhananjay, Sudhir, Parshya and Shantanu with Madhuri, Manisha, Kamli and Sushma, respectively. The film ends with the all four newlywed couples taking a family photograph along with Leelabai.

== Synopsis ==

Shaku's sole dream is to marry a millionaire as according to her, a girl receives only one chance to change her name and financial conditions and that is after her marriage. Damodar is a domestic worker for Mr. Laxmidhar Kuber ([[Nilu Phule]]), a renowned industrialist whose only son, Narendra ([[Sachin Pilgaonkar]]), also known as Naren, has just returned from abroad after completing his studies. At a party thrown by Mr. Kuber for his son's homecoming, Shaku accompanies Damodar for help in the chores when Naren shares his views on marriage with his friends. His only condition is that he will marry a young widow, which is overheard by Shaku.

With the help of Tatya Malvankar ([[Macchindra Kambli]]), a theatre costume lender and friend of Damodar, Shaku poses as "Saudamini", a young widow, and enters the Kuber residence. Using her theatrical antics, she soon wins over the hearts of Naren and his mother, Mrs. Kuber ([[Gol Maal|Shubha Khote]]), who ask her to stay in the house for a more duration. As days go by, Naren falls in love with Shaku but Mr. Kuber asks for Saudamini's late husband's photograph. Again with the help of Tatya Malvankar, Shaku shows the Kubers the photograph of an aspiring theatre actor dressed in a military uniform and tells his name as "Captain Bajirao Rangade", her so-called late husband, provoking Mr. Kuber to finally agree for Naren and Shaku's marriage.

The aspiring theatre actor in the photograph is Dinkar Luktuke ([[Ashok Saraf]]), a clerk working for Mr. Kuber's childhood friend, Mr. Gajanan Deshmukh ([[Jayram Kulkarni|Jairam Kulkarni]]), while secretly in love with his only daughter, Hema ([[Kishori Shahane]]). Mr. Kuber had previously asked Mr. Deshmukh for Hema's hand in marriage for Naren. == Synopsis ==
Shaku ([[Supriya Pilgaonkar]]) is a sober but adamant young girl orphaned by fate who lives in a slum with her maternal uncle, Damodar ([[Gammat Jammat|Suhas Bhalekar]]), a bachelor. Shaku's sole dream is to marry a millionaire as according to her, a girl receives only one chance to change her name and financial conditions and that is after her marriage. Damodar is a domestic worker for Mr. Laxmidhar Kuber ([[Nilu Phule]]), a renowned industrialist whose only son, Narendra ([[Sachin Pilgaonkar]]), also known as Naren, has just returned from abroad after completing his studies. At a party thrown by Mr. Kuber for his son's homecoming, Shaku accompanies Damodar for help in the chores when Naren shares his views on marriage with his friends. His only condition is that he will marry a young widow, which is overheard by Shaku.

With the help of Tatya Malvankar ([[Macchindra Kambli]]), a theatre costume lender and friend of Damodar, Shaku poses as "Saudamini", a young widow, and enters the Kuber residence. Using her theatrical antics, she soon wins over the hearts of Naren and his mother, Mrs. Kuber ([[Gol Maal|Shubha Khote]]), who ask her to stay in the house for a more duration. As days go by, Naren falls in love with Shaku but Mr. Kuber asks for Saudamini's late husband's photograph. Again with the help of Tatya Malvankar, Shaku shows the Kubers the photograph of an aspiring theatre actor dressed in a military uniform and tells his name as "Captain Bajirao Rangade", her so-called late husband, provoking Mr. Kuber to finally agree for Naren and Shaku's marriage.

The aspiring theatre actor in the photograph is Dinkar Luktuke ([[Ashok Saraf]]), a clerk working for Mr. Kuber's childhood friend, Mr. Gajanan Deshmukh ([[Jayram Kulkarni|Jairam Kulkarni]]), while secretly in love with his only daughter, Hema ([[Kishori Shahane]]). Mr. Kuber had previously asked Mr. Deshmukh for Hema's hand in marriage for Naren. One day, when Mr. Kuber visits Mr. Deshmukh at his office, he suddenly bumps into Luktuke and identifies him from the photograph of Saudamini's late husband, Captain Bajirao Rangade. A plan begins to take shape in Mr. Kuber's mind. What could the plan be? Does Mr. Kuber discover Shaku's deceit? Do Naren and Shaku get married? What happens to Luktuke and Hema's love?
