Plot
The story starts with a pregnant woman, Vidya, meeting with her Guruji. They talk about Pishaachini , an evil pishaachini and a former disciple of Guruji, who is going after three magical gems. If she gets all three of the gems, he will become so powerful no one will be able to stop her. Guruji has given two of the gems, the Tatva Ratna, with the power to control the elements, and the Mayavi Ratna, with the power of illusions and mind control, to two of his disciples for safekeeping. Pishaachini, however, killed these disciples with her magic and acquired both the gems, which she wears on a pendant, and their powers. Shee is now after the third and the most powerful of the three gems, the Kaal Vijay Ratna, which has the power to give visions of the future and the power to change the future, which is with Guruji himself. Vidya and Guruji go to his cave, where Pishaachini appears and asks Guruji for the Kaal Vijay Ratna. Guruji uses magic and pushes Pishaachini to the side while he throws the gem at Vidya . Pishaachini, recovers and moved in front of the incoming gem to catch it. The Kaal Vijay Ratna then enters her right eye, destroying it and revealing a glowing red light inside it. The gem then goes inside Vidya's womb. Guruji then tells her that her unborn twin children will get the powers of the gem and warns her to beware the dark forces that will come after her and to beware the full moon. He then tells Vidya to run away.

Vidya has two daughters, Drishti and Divya. Gifted with superpowers, Drishti has the ability to see the future while Divya has the power to change it. Vidya and Sarthak are worried as Pishaachini is hunting them down to steal their powers. They manage to save Divya and Drishti but end up sacrificing themselves. The sisters run away but ultimately get separated and adopted by different families.

20 years later
Divya and Drishti have grown up. Drishti is mature, and caring while Divya is carefree and free-spirited. They constantly try to find each other, feeling each other's presence at times yet are unable to identify each other. Drishti is hired as the assistant of Rakshit Shergill. Love blossoms between Rakshit and Drishti. Through a series of events, Divya marries Shikhar (Rakshit's cousin) while Drishti marries Rakshit. Divya and Drishti discover the truth about each other and reunite. They decide to find their parents' murderer. Mahima is revealed to be the daughter of the Guruji. Shikhar is revealed to know everything about Pishaachini.

Drishti, Divya, Romi(brother of Drishti) and Shikhar join hands to destroy Pishachini and manage to kill her but her soul enters Divya's body, turning her into Divyachini. Drishti manages to separate Divya and Pishaachini with the help of a powerful and mysterious man named Anjaan and but Pishaachini reenters her previous body, this time becoming even more powerful. Later, Rakshit is revealed to be Anjaan who possesses powers and is trying destroy Pishaachini.

After some days, everyone come to know that the doors of the hell are opening and many evil power are coming out from hell who will try to get the kal Vijay ratna. Divya, Drishti, Rakshit, Shikhar and Romi take the responsibility protect the Ratna. Pishaachini teams with the evil from hell in order to get the Kaal Vijay ratna for himself. Divya drishti and others manage to kill the evil powers from hell but Pishaachini becomes successful in taking the ratna and flies away. With all the ratnas in hand she tries to merge the power of all Ratnas but fails. Later, she asks for help from Kal Devta the evil Lord of hell to help her in merging the powers. He tells her that she needs to activate the true power of each of the ratnas. He does so with the Tatva and Mayavi Ratna. On Independence Day, Shikhar is revealed to be not the real son of the family, it was Shikhar's imposter who was helping Pishachini in order to gain powers. Divya kills the imposter. Pishachini successfully activates the Kaal Vijay Ratna, but Divya Drishti blow up the building with a bomb Pishachini placed. The resulting explosion causes Pishaachini to drop all the ratnas while fleeing and kills Divya Drishti.

Thirteen days later, Pishachini lives in the Shergill manor and is controlling the family mysteriously. Divya-Drishti reincarnate and gain new powers to stop Pishachini once and for all they get all powers of the three ratan. They re-enter the house to find Pishaachini claiming to be Rakshit's wife. Rakshit has lost all his memories due to the blast. Pishaachini gives birth to Patali, her and Kaal Devta's daughter who poses to be Rakshit's daughter. Rakshit regains his memories and along with Divya-Drishti, defeats Patali.

A few days later, a cunning prisoner escapes from hell fooling the Kaal Devta. He comes through Pisachini's den which leads to the Shergill house and realises that they are a very rich family and decides to rob them. Rakshit traces out the real Shikhar through some detectives using his childhood pictures. The prisoner who has now named himself as Murari, is brought to the Shergill family as the real Shikhar. Pishaachini kills Patali and puts the blame on Divya, sending her to hell. Drishti, Rakshit, Romi and Murari rescue her. Murari has flashbacks of his forgotten childhood and realises that he is real Shikhar. The Shergill family then find out that Shikhar is from hell, putting a strain on Divya and Shikhar's newly budding feelings. Now, the mysterious Ostrich, an old disciple of Guruji, enters. Ostrich attacks Rashi, killing her to the chagrin of the Shergill family. To find out ostrich's secret, Divya-Drishti decide to go into the cave, where many years ago the kaal vijay ratna was given to Vidya(Divya-Drishti's mother). They find the cave locked and the only way to open it is with their and their husbands hands on four handprints. Divya marries Shikhar since his hand fits the last handprint.

After many tries, Divya and Drishti find an oyster, which holds the secret of the cave. Drishti finds out she is pregnant with twins after a sudden vision. During the Shergill family reunion where Rakshit's cousins arrive, Pishaachini casts a spell, barring every exit with walls that form back when they are broken down. To make matters worse, Ostrich is attacking members of the Shergill family, killing everyone except Divya-Drishti, Rakshit and Shikhar, who escaped using a magic chest Divya-Drishti encountered in the cave. After escaping, they make a plan to lure Ostrich and Pishaachini to Divya-Drishti's old house by leaving a note in the Shergill house. A fight ensues between the heroes and the two villains. In a dramatic twist, Ostrich is revealed to be Mahima, Rakshit's mother, leaving everyone, especially Rakshit, devastated.

Mahima reveals that she was jealous of Vidya because she was given the Kaal Vijay Ratna by Guruji, rather than Mahima, his greatest pupil. Mahima vowed revenge and allied with Pishaachini to kill Vidya and get the gems. Mahima says she can bring back the dead family members with some magic water which she will give to them only if Divya-Drishti kill themselves. Divya-Drishti do so, releasing the Tatva Ratna, which Pishaachini takes and the Mayavi Ratna, which Mahima takes. The Kaal Vijay Ratna also came out but disappeared when Divya and Drishti touched hands. Divya and Drishti are resurrected once more, with the help of the two pearls inside the oyster. This came with news that both of them lost their new powers so Drishti can only see the future and Divya only has the power to change it. Also, Drishti's children were due in 2 hours. They return to the Shergill house, where the family is tricking Mahima and Pishaachini into thinking that Divya-Drishti's soul are alive. During this Shikhar and Divya fall in river and accept their marriage.

Guruji is revealed to be alive, having faked his death and being trapped in the cave by Mahima since then. He allies with Divya-Drishti, who are plotting to destroy Pishaachini and Mahima by turning them on one another. But later he reveals that the Kaal Vijay Ratna was cursed in the first place and he being greedy for powers could not join the three gems and hence approached Vidya, a pure soul who could possibly remove the curse but due to the chaos created by Pishaachini before Vidya touched it led the powers to be split to her children. He later disguised himself as Kaal Devta by killing the real Kaal Devta. Drishti gives birth to her twin children shortly after which Ostrich and Kaal Devta are killed by Rakshit. Pishaachini then acquires all three ratnas which she combines to form the blue Maha Ratna. She transforms into Maha Pishaachini and tries to kill Divya and Drishti but Lord Shiva ends him once and for all. Divya-Drishti are later revealed to have lost their powers which they are okay with. Drishti's twins are later shown to have Divya-Drishti's powers, while the Maha Ratna, thought to have gone back to Lord Shiva, is revealed to still be on Pluto.
In October 2019, The Times of India criticised the ongoing track then stating: "Divya-Drishti’s latest storyline is crossing all boundaries of bizarreness. The series followed the lives of the members of the Modi family, exploring the morals and values of a typical Gujarati joint family. Initially, it focused on cousins Gopi and Rashi and their lives in the Modi house after marrying the Modis' sons, Ahem and Jigar, respectively. After a time leap, the series focused on Gopi's daughters, Meera and Vidya.
Plot
Gopi is an orphan who lives with her aunt Urmila Shah, uncle Jeetu Shah, and cousin Rashi. Kokila Modi, belonging to an affluent Gujarati family, decides to have her son Ahem Modi marry Gopi. Urmila and Rashi plot to have Rashi marry Jigar, another son of the Modi family. Soon, Ahem and Gopi, and Jigar and Rashi, get married. Initially, Gopi faces many hardships, as Kokila is strict, and Ahem rejects her because of her illiteracy. Rashi, aided by her mother, Urmila, actively plots against her cousin to sabotage her success. Ahem's sister, Kinjal, is married to Urmila's nephew, Dhaval Desai. Over time, Kokila grows closer to Gopi but does not support her decision to study further. However, recognizing her efforts, Ahem gradually accepts his relationship with Gopi and helps her through her studies. Eventually, Rashi and Urmila's plot, which led the former to marry Jigar, is unveiled. The Modi family estranges Rashi; however, as she shows signs of redemption, she is forgiven and accepted in the family.

Soon, Gopi has a daughter, Meera, while Rashi has twin sons, Sahir and Samar. Gopi's long-lost parents, Madhu and Jayantilal, return and reunite with Gopi and her sister, Radha. Radha marries Kinjal's ex-boyfriend, Umang Mehta, who is murdered by his first wife, Tripti. Tripti blames Gopi for Umang's death; Radha believes her. However, Kokila collaborates with Gopi and Rashi to learn the truth and later reveals Umang and Tripti's intentions to Radha, thereby sentencing Tripti to eight years of imprisonment. Gopi discovers that she is again pregnant. However, Tripti again turns Radha against Gopi. When the family is out for a picnic, Radha schemes to cause an accident to kill Meera, which results in Gopi accidentally slipping and dropping baby Meera into the river. Kokila holds Gopi responsible for Meera's death, and a guilt-ridden Gopi leaves the Modi house.

8 years later
Gopi raises her second daughter, Vidya, single-handedly. Kokila decides to have Ahem marry Radha. On the day of the marriage, Rashi finds Gopi; with the help of Samar, Sahir, Pappu, and Vidya, they plan to remarry Ahem and Gopi. Their plan is successful, and Gopi reveals to the family that Vidya is her daughter with Ahem. Kokila learns that Meera is alive but was ill-treated by Radha and grew up as an orphan in a temple. Kokila decides to expose them, but Tripti causes an accident that results in Kokila having partial memory loss. Gopi and Ahem bring a young girl, Gauri, to the house; she turns out to be Meera. Kokila regains her memory, and the whole family is reunited after Radha's crimes are revealed; she is imprisoned along with Tripti for trying to kill Kokila and Meera.

Rashi's maternal cousin, Paridhi, enters the Modi house. Rashi sacrifices her life to save Gopi from Paridhi's obsessed colleague, Anurag Joshi. Jigar goes into depression because of Rashi's demise. However, soon after, he marries Paridhi due to family pressure. Radha returns, tricks Jigar into sleeping with her, and becomes pregnant. She delivers a daughter who is named after Rashi and threatens the Modis that she will kill the child. Realizing that Radha will never reform, and to save Rashi Jr., Gopi kills Radha by repeatedly stabbing her with a trishul. Gopi is then sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment.

10 years later
Gopi is released from jail after her sentence is reduced by four years. She is shocked to learn that Kokila no longer lives in the Modi house and is a maid at the house of Urmila, who is feigning mental illness. Paridhi refuses to foster Rashi Jr. and does not let her stay at the Modi house. Ahem has broken all ties with the Modis and lives in Bandra, Mumbai, with Meera, Vidya, and a woman named Mansi Raheja, who is the caretaker of Meera and Vidya. He runs a bakery called MV (named after Meera and Vidya). Kinjal has separated from Dhaval after an argument, which caused Urmila's feigned memory loss, and lives at the Modi house. Gopi's mother, Madhu, escapes after failing to take Rashi Jr. with her.

Gopi, Jigar, and Kokila travel to Mumbai to bring Ahem, Meera, and Vidya back home. While Vidya is sweet-natured and kind, Meera has grown into a spoiled and ill-mannered young woman. Meera and Vidya refuse to accept Gopi as their mother, and Ahem wants nothing to do with her. However, after many failed attempts, the family is reunited. Vidya's marriage is arranged with Shravan, whose grandmother, Gaura, is Kokila's childhood friend. Gaura seeks revenge on Kokila for her brother's death and secretly has Meera marry her son, Dharam. Madhu returns with her adopted daughter, Sona, seeking revenge against the Modis for Radha's death. While trying to stab Kokila, Madhu accidentally stabs Gopi. Guilt-ridden after being slapped by Sona, she flees, jumps into a lake, and dies. Gopi survives the attack, and Sahir (Rashi and Jigar's son) marries Sona. Paridhi does not accept this marriage. Dharam and Meera gradually fall in love and remarry. But their happiness is short-lived as Ahem dies in a car accident.

5 years later
Gopi has been depressed since Ahem's demise and has not spoken in years. Paridhi has expelled Sahir and Sona from the Modi mansion and had Samar marry a rich woman, Monica. Baa, Chirag, Hetal, and Parag have moved to America for Baa's treatment, while Dhaval, Kinjal, and Pappu have moved to London. Vidya has a four-year-old daughter with Shravan named Priyal. Kokila arranges Gopi's marriage to her therapist and doctor, Krishna Raheja, who turns out to be Mansi's brother and seeks vengeance on Gopi for separating Mansi and Ahem. Soon, Gopi and Kokila meet Ahem's look-alike, Jaggi, and request him to save Gopi from Krishna's evil plans. Later, it is revealed that Jaggi is Parag and Urvashi's illegitimate son.

Gopi learns from her dying friend, Antara, that she gave birth to a son and that Vidya is not Gopi's daughter. Antara had cheated Gopi by swapping her daughter with Gopi's son. Gopi's long-lost son, Ramakant, has now grown into a spoiled and selfish young man. As the story proceeds, Ramakant promises to marry Sita, a young traditional girl living with the Modis. However, he then marries Sameera, who is the daughter of Anita (Ahem's ex-girlfriend). After Anita's death, Sameera vows to avenge the Modis. She traps herself in an unbreakable glass container with the help of Pinku and Daimaa during Ramakant's (also known as Ricky) absence. Kokila nearly dies saving Sameera. The next day, Sameera calls the police on her birthday and gets Gopi and Kokila arrested. To save Kokila and Gopi, the Modis give Sita a makeover as "Sia". Sia arrives at a fashion show that Sameera is attending and makes Sameera, Pinku, Daimaa, and Ramakant believe that she is not Sita. A few days later, upon uncovering the truth about the trap set for Gopi and Kokila and under the pressure of Sia, Ramakant goes to visit his mother. On his way, he is trapped by Sameera and Pinku and nearly killed in a car bombing, but Sia saves him. Later, upon visiting the house, Gopi presumes Ramakant is dead and goes into shock, falling into a coma. Sia continues hiding Ramakant from the Modis and Sameera. The truth is revealed when Sameera is caught and confesses the truth to the Modis. Later, the Modis arrange Sita's marriage to Ramakant, who reforms himself before marrying.
Plot
Season 1
In the year 2000, Mohana, a 250
-year-old daayan who has managed to extend her parasitic existence by sapping the life-force of her victims. Residing in Bhandap, she bewitches businessman Mridul Rathod and eventually ties the knot with him. Together, they have two children, Ansh and Kajal. As Mohana aids her husband in accumulating immense wealth through the use of dark sorcery, she gradually takes away his vitality, ultimately leading to his untimely death.

This unfortunate turn of events prompts Vedashree Rathod, Mridul Rathod's sister-in-law, to grow concerned. She seeks assistance from her friend Divya Sharma, a psychic wizardess and a member of the reevaavanshi, a clan of evil hunters, known for their ability to ward off evil eye. Divya thwarts Mohana's malevolent influence by severing her plait, rendering Mohana powerless. Mohana then escapes into the woods, but they pursue her along with a mob of villagers holding torches. Once cornered, Mohana was set on fire which turns her into stone. Divya seals Mohana in a coffin within a temple, safeguarded by powerful mantras. Not long after these events, Divya mysteriously disappears. Vedashree and her husband, Shekhar Rathod, adopt Ansh and Kajal. Yet Mohana's nazar still lurks on the family as she is a unique and very powerful Daayan called the Ekaayan.

Season 2
Palak, a compassionate woman living with a hole in her heart, finds herself compelled to enter a marriage of convenience with Apurv, a man afflicted by severe mental instability and an intellectual age equivalent to that of a five-year-old. She makes this difficult choice to secure the money required to cover her sister Naina's hospital bills. As time passes, an unexpected and genuine love blossoms between them. Meanwhile, Apurv's sinister sister, Madhulika, a daayan, harbors sinister intentions to sacrifice Apurv during the upcoming Purnima night, aiming to attain an Ekayan status. She has killed everyone who found out the truth about her. She has repeatedly stopped Apurv's marriage attempts, but her plans fail when she encounters Palak's divine powers that disrupt her malevolent pursuits. Frustrated by her repeated failures, Madhulika dispatches Girgit Behrupi in an attempt to kill Palak. However, Palak's newfound awareness of her daivik powers allows her to triumph over Behrupi. The story concludes on a cliffhanger.

Critical response
India Today stated, "Although there is no dearth of chudails, dayans and shaitans in Indian TV, Gul's dayan stands apart. The character is loud and over the top, but is well-written and has a fascinating back story. Mona Lisa as Mohona is impressive, and the show is able to hold the interest of the viewer despite being a daily."

After its premiere, it received negative criticism from The Times of India which stated, "Right from the beginning to the end, the show fails to hold you as it is highly dramatic, and the background music adds to the woes. The railway station, the forest and the havelis are typical elements used in a supernatural thriller. They bring no novelty. The plot is incoherent as the background of the characters is not explained well. The show is painfully slow, the story is patchy and so are the scenes. Dialogues are retro and filmy. The list can go on. Monalisa and Harsh Rajput disappoint as actors. They play their parts with zero efficiency. The supporting cast is again average at its best."

However, speaking about the success of the series, The Times of India stated, "The majority of the scenes are shot using chroma and the makers add special effects that add to the quality of the episodes. The makers have made a make-believe world with Mohana's story and it's quite an enchanting and exciting one just like your dadima's childhood 'evil vs good' stories".
Plot

Reception

Ratings
The first season opened to a TRP of 1.8 and 4.2 million impressions featuring in top 20 shows.
