==Political career==
He started his political life as a member of [[Kerala Students Union|Kerala Students Union (KSU)]], the Kerala student's wing of [[Indian National Congress]]. While in college, he was the unit office bearer of [[Kerala Students Union|K.S.U.]] and the General Secretary of college union. He was elected thrice to the [[Kerala Legislative Assembly]] in [[2011 Kerala Legislative Assembly election|2011]], [[2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election|2016]] and [[2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election|2021]] from [[Palakkad (State Assembly constituency)|Palakkad constituency]].
