'''Chanot''' ({{Lang|hi|चैनत}}) is a village in [[Hansi]] -1 [[tehsil]] of [[Hisar (district)|Hisar district]], in the Indian state of [[Haryana]]. The majority is of Duhan Clan of Jaat caste.

The village is named after Dadi Chaini Devi, an elder who was its first inhabitant. She initially lived in Mahjot before marrying and having a family. The wedding was in Sangwan village. For an unknown reason, she came to the place where the present Chanot lies. Chanot is in the [[Hansi]] constituency of the Haryana legislature and the [[Hisar (city)|Hisar]] constituency in the [[List of constituencies of the Lok Sabha|Lok Sabha]] (Parliamentary) system.
