==Power plant==
Satpura Thermal Power Station has an installed capacity of 1330 MW. The First unit was commissioned in October 1967.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://mppgenco.nic.in/stps-sarni.htm|title=Satpura Thermal Power Plant|publisher=M.P.Power Generation Company Limited.}}</ref>
The Water for the plant has been procured from nearby [[Tawa River|Tawa]] Dam Lake area, which spread in {{convert|2893|acre|km2}}.
The coal for the plant has been procured by Rail/Road/Belt from Western Coal Fields. There are two more units of 250 MW are in stps.
