In January 2018, the engine of the Magadh Express caught fire between stations–Twining Ganj and Raghunathpur – on Mughalsarai–Patna rail section of Danapur division. Railway officials reported no injuries or deaths amongst passengers. It was largely due to the loco pilot's prompt action in extinguishing the fire within moments of having witnessed it, for which the man received praise.<ref>{{Cite news|url=https://www.outlookindia.com/website/story/delhi-bound-magadh-express-engine-catches-fire-none-hurt/306904|title=Bihar: Engine of Magadh Express Train Catches Fire|last=Alert Driver Averts Tragedy|work=Outlook India|access-date=2018-07-30}}</ref><ref>{{Cite news|url=https://www.indiatvnews.com/news/india-bihar-engine-of-magadh-express-train-catches-fire-alert-driver-averts-tragedy-422315|title=Bihar: Engine of Magadh Express train catches fire, alert driver averts tragedy|date=2018-01-15|access-date=2018-07-30}}</ref>
