== Plot ==
Mohan is a rich guy who returns from another country, after his studies but he is very arrogant towards people who are below his financial standards and even towards his own mother. He gets attracted to a local prostitute Kantha and even submits all his riches and property to her. On his mother's insistence he marries a girl, Chandra, who is his cousin who is a traditional and a village girl. On his first night Mohan gets to find out she is not of his culture and leaves for Kantha. Gradually he loses all of his wealth and is left only with his house. Mohan gets addicted to alcohol and Kantha so much that he doesn't even attend his mother's funeral and perform her last rites which are carried out by his friend Balu.
Balu advises Mohan many times to mend his ways but Mohan turns down all his advice.
Gradually, Mohan is affected by leprosy, and with no money left for his treatment, Kantha throws him out of her house. Due to a heavy storm, Mohan loses one of his legs and eyesight and eventually has to make do by begging, and one day he reaches out to his wife Chandra who now works in a house as a maid. Neither recognise each other as Mohan has a deformed appearance and cannot see her. But she feeds him daily out of humanity.

Searching for Mohan, his friend Balu comes to Chandra, and during their conversation, the trio recognise each other. Mohan asks Chandra and Balu to marry each other so that Chandra doesn't need to lead a pitiful life. He also asks Balu to establish his statues in the city in the deformed form so that persons like him can take his life as an example and mend their ways to lead a happy life. After so many years, Balu and Chandra are shown at Mohan's statue, crying in his memory.

==Plot==
The film opens with a lady coming to India from Malaysia. She takes a taxi and wants to go to Brahma's place. The driver then starts telling her about Brahma's life. The movie goes into a flashback. In 1970, Veer Brahma (Nassar) killed two rich men. Then his wife gives birth to a son. The movie then comes back in 2014, ACP Shinde ([[Sayaji Shinde]]) is handed the case of Brahma. Pranitha comes and tells her story - Pranitha ([[Pranitha Subhash]]) is a girl from Malaysia. She lives with her parents in Malaysia. She saw Brahma ([[Upendra (actor)|Upendra]]) helping a beggar. After some events, she falls in love with Brahma. Then Lucky man, ([[Rangayana Raghu]]) a millionaire, is also fooled by Brahma. In Malaysia, Bramha killed an international don named Rahul Dev ([[Rahul Dev]]). Now we see that Brahma is a Don. Brahma goes to loot his house. There Brahma is living with a new name, Upendra. He works in his father's house. Then we see some comedies of Sadhu ([[Sadhu Kokila]]), who is the leader of the servants in the house. Then Pranitha and Lucky man come into that house. One day Brahma is caught by ACP Shinde in that house. Then Brahma's grandfather reveals their past. In [[1600 BC]] A warrior named Brahma ([[Upendra (actor)|Upendra]]) is very kind to poor. He gives all his wealth to the poor. But in 1950, their family becomes very poor. Then Veer Brahma says that he will take all the wealth his grandfather gave to others. Then Bramha is taken to court, and he is sentenced to 2 years in jail. There, his father apologizes to him. After two years, Bramha is now the chief minister of Karnataka. The lady came to kill Brahma, but she did not succeed in killing him. She is the wife of Rahul Dev. The movie ends with Upendra saying, ''Jo janta ko chodkar dourta hai woh leader nehi ho ta, Jo janta ko sath lekar dourta hai wahi ho ta hai leader''. In English, this means, ''Which man runs without the public he is not a leader, but he who runs with the public he is the leader''.

==Plot==
Raghava ([[Upendra (actor)|Upendra]]) is a typical jobless youth who spends his days playing cricket with friends. He suffers from an irrational fear of ghosts, and retreats to the safety of his home after sunset. So great is his fear, that he prefers to sleep with his mother ([[Umashri]]) and have her accompany him to the bathroom at night. This creates major annoyance in the household, including Raghava's brother ([[Achyuth Kumar]]), sister-in-law ([[Shruti (actress)|Shruti]]) and their children.

One day, Raghava and his friends are forced to abandon their usual cricket ground and find a new one; they unwittingly select an abandoned ground which is rumored to be haunted. A bizarre weather change scares them away. Raghava brings home his cricket stumps, which have been stained with blood from a buried corpse in the ground. He focuses on wooing Priya ([[Lakshmi Rai]]), the sister of his sister-in-law. In the following days, his mother and sister-in-law are witness to several paranormal phenomena at night; prominently a ghost haunting the hallways. On consulting a priest, they perform 3 rituals to ascertain if the house is haunted:

1. They keep a coconut on a rangoli and pray to [[Lord Shiva]]. The coconut rotates on its own.

2. They make a cow eat food. The cow runs out of the house without eating the food.

3. They leave a lit lamp and two drops of blood and leave the house. A ghost of a woman appears before them and licks the blood.

Scared senseless, Raghava's mother and sister-in-law hire two priests ([[Om Prakash Rao]] and [[Bullet Prakash]]) to rid their home of the ghost. The priests, however, are conmen, and escape with their lives. That night, the ghost possesses Raghava, who begins acting increasingly [[effeminate]], alienating himself from Priya and wearing women's clothes and jewellery. His family angrily confronts him, when it is revealed that there are actually three ghosts who have possessed him: a violent woman, a Hindi-speaking Muslim, and an intellectually disabled boy. Raghava's family hires an [[exorcist]], who successfully drives the spirit away from Raghava's body. The ghost of the woman, trapped, reveals her story.

Kalpana ([[Sai Kumar Pudipeddi]]) is a [[transgender]] who was disowned by her parents. She is offered shelter by a kind Muslim Akbar Bai ([[Babu Antony]]), who has an intellectually disabled son. Regretting that she couldn't become a doctor as she intended, she adopts another young transgender, Geetha, and works hard to support her financially. When Geetha leaves to study medicine abroad, Kalpana buys a plot of land where Geetha intended to construct a hospital for the poor. That ground is unlawfully taken by crooked [[Member of the Legislative Assembly (India)|MLA]] Shankar. Kalpana angrily confronts the MLA, who cunningly kills her. He also kills Babu Antony and his son. Before she died, she vowed to kill Shankar, his wife, and his henchmen. The bodies are then buried in Kalpana's own ground.

The exorcist sympathizes with her, but remains duty-bound and traps her. After hearing her story, Raghava is touched; risking the danger, he allows Kalpana to possess him once again. Raghava/Kalpana confronts the MLA, and disposes of his henchmen gruesomely. The MLA seeks refuge in a [[Narasimha]] temple which Kalpana is forbidden from; but she asks the deity for justice and manages to chase him inside the temple. The three spirits combined kill the MLA. A few years later, Raghava has constructed the hospital for Geetha as per Kalpana's wishes. The movie ends with Priya shouting "devva" (ghost in Kannada) and a terrified Raghava sitting on her hip.

The film was launched on 14 December at the Kanteerava Studios in [[Bangalore]]. 95% of the filming occurred in [[Chennai]], similar to the original version but some portions were significantly shot in and around [[Mangalore]]. Upendra brought his family, as it was his wedding anniversary. He and his wife, actress [[Priyanka Upendra]], exchanged garlands in front of hundreds of fans and film industry dignitaries. [[Lakshmi Rai]], the female lead in the original film, played in the same role opposite Upendra in this film. [[Sai Kumar (Kannada actor)|Sai Kumar]] was cast to play a special role in the film which was played by actor [[Sarath Kumar]] in the original.
