He started his career from Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha, Uttar Pradesh as General Secretary, later he become the State president and then the National Secretary of this organisation. He was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1996. In 1999, he again elected to the 13th Lok Sabha. And third time, he got elected to the 14th Lok Sabha elections in 2004. And finally he resigned from the politics by 16, March 2009. Now, he gave the responsibilities to his son [[Sidhraj Singh]]<br />
