Her daughter, though, is far from grateful. She is unmotivated, never studies properly, gets low marks in her school exams and won't quit believing that she can't be anything more than a petty "domestic help" like her mother.<br />

Sujatha slowly starts impressing her classmates and scores pretty much well in maths exams. No one, except for the school's kind principal, is aware of Sujatha's relationship to Athira. Athira begs her mother to stop attending the school. She is angered by her mother's success in math, as she herself continues to fail to understand it. Both of them starts a rivalry where if Athira scores more marks than Sujatha the latter should leave school. Athira, seeing no other solution but to score better than her mother, starts studying well. She scores a "personal" record 58% marks in her next mathematics exam. One day Sujatha finds out that Athira has stolen her savings to buy expensive school bags, slippers and dress. Sujatha gets humiliated by the landlady to whom she owes money. Athira suspects that her mother is earning money by prostitution. The relation between the mother and daughter reaches an all-time low.<br />

==Plot==<br />
The film tells the story of the all-consuming Manoharan ([[Biju Menon]]) in a village called Mullakkara in [[Kuttanadu]], surrounded by a lake. Manoharan, who had been running for everything in the country since ancient times, had to be a wedding broker in a special situation twenty-two years ago.<br />
The humiliation of the loss of his sister Anitha at the wedding, and the grief of their father's heart attack, have made Manoharan lose to Tresiamma, his rival. Ever since Manoharan became a broker, no couple has fled from Mullakara.<br />

In the meantime, he is given the task to marry off his deceased Shalini's ([[Anaswara Rajan]]) daughter, Aswathi (also [[Anaswara Rajan]]), the granddaughter of a teacher couple who looked after her just like her parents. He confirms Aswathi's marriage with Kunjumon ([[Aju Varghese]]), a small local businessman. However, the story takes a twist when Manoharan learns that Aswathi had fallen in love with a boy named Sathya from her college in Bangalore. Later, Manoharan meets Anitha in Bangalore and she says that the word of the bride is the last and final word for a marriage and that it's Aswathi's right to marry whomever she wants. Manoharan understands that Aswathi loves Sathya dearly and he agrees to help her marry Sathya and takes her back to Mullakara. He also tells her not to tell anybody that she loves Sathya. Aswathi meets Kunjumon there and he confesses that his love for her had begun in childhood. Unable to tell to him about Sathya, Aswathi tries to find ways to call off the wedding. ==Plot==<br />
{{no plot|date=August 2020}}December movie is about a murder mystery being resolved after a gap of 15 - 20 years. A Minister's Private Secretary gets killed in an explosion. Several years later, Manjulan grows up and joins the medical college to become a college stud. The minister himself gets killed in a hospital run by a very good friend his, while under the medical supervision of a doctor who happens to be the son of the deceased secretary. The film ends with the antagonist killing himself after shouting "Ini Ellam Lays"leaving everyone clueless.<br />
