Critics have frequently noted that Patani's roles in many of her films are often "insignificant," characterized by limited screen time, a focus on her physical appearance, and little to no emotional depth. While she is recognized for her impressive fitness, dance skills, and screen presence, she has been described as a "starlet" or "eye candy" in several high-profile projects.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/bollywood/i-never-aim-to-be-superstar-disha-patani-4450357/lite/|title=I never aim to be a superstar: Disha Patani|website=Theindianexpress|access-date= 29 December 2016}}</ref><ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/bollywood/disha-patani-5164537/lite/|title=Disha Patani: I am not someone who likes to compete with actors in the industry|website=Indianexpress|access-date= 5 May 2018}}</ref>
