Most of its 18000+ students come from in and around [[Dammam|Ad-Dammam]], [[Al-Khobar]] and a few from [[Ras Tanura|Ras tanura]]. It was established in 1982 with 250 students and 15 teachers in a few portacabins and inaugurated by the then Indian Prime Minister [[Indira Gandhi]].
