Kalakaumudi (Malayalam:കലാകൗമുദി)[1] is an illustrated weekly news magazine published in Malayalam language from Kerala, India. It is printed in Thiruvananthapuram[2] and distributed throughout Kerala by Kalakaumudi Publications Pvt. Ltd. Kalakaumudi was launched in 1975[2] by M. S. Mani, the eldest son of K. Sukumaran, founder-editor of Kerala Kaumudi Daily. Kalakaumudi was a by-product of the emergency-call by late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975. The publication zoomed to fame by its sharply worded editorials, socio-political write-ups, in-depth reporting, election analysis, etc.

The group also publishes several other magazines namely Vellinakshatram,[3] Ayurarogyam,[4] Muhoortham,[5] Priya Snehitha,[6] Kadha, Big News Mid Day from Trivandrum, Kollam, Kochi and Kozhikode, Kalakaumudi daily, the oldest Malayalam daily from Mumbai, Ente Bhavanam, Trial etc. The same group once published the much acclaimed Film magazine and Neelambari.

The Group was founded in 1975 with the lighting of the lamp by K. Sukumaran. Founder editor is M. S. Mani and the editor is Sukumaran Mani. Prasad Laxman is the executive editor. K. Balachandran is associate editor, V.D. Selvaraj is deputy editor K.S. Sarathlal is Delhi bureau chief, Jagadeesh Babu is coordinating editor. Editorial team for the various publications include P. Sasidharan alias Piravanthoor Sasi, P. Ravikumar, Yesudas Williams, Beena Ranjini, S. L. Syam, Pradeep Anand, V.G. Nakul, Dipin Manathavadi and Rajesh. Dignitaries like M. P. Narayana Pillai, Namboothiri, K. Velappan, EV Sridharan, Kallikkadu Ramachandran, NRS Babu and S. Jayachandran Nair once worked in there.
